From the Principal

February 3rd, 2012

Dear Parents,

Dear Parents, Believe it or not, we have just completed week 5 of this nine weeks. If you have not checked your child’s grades on the Parent Portal it is time to do so. Parent/ Teacher Conferences are on February 27th and 28th which is very close to the end of the grading period. If your child has missing assignments (zero on a line) ask your student about it and get the assignment turned in. One zero can greatly affect their overall grade.

It is that time of year when PTA starts looking for parents who might be interested in serving on the PTA Executive Board for next year. We are currently looking to fill multiple positions for next school year. If you have an interest or would simply like more information on how you can get involved, please let me know by calling the front office. I will get you the information you need to make a decision that is good for you and your family.

It was nice to see so many of you at Science Night. Thank you for taking the time to come out and support Science at Centerville. It was a great event with numerous activities for students. Our next PTA event is March 8th and will be a Math Carnival.

As many of you know our elected officials are in the middle of very hard decisions as they work on the state budget for the next fiscal year. Many of these decisions affect how school is run, either through budget expenditures or Bills they are considering that could directly impact students. Please pay attention to these items and let your representative know how you feel about the issues.

Kind Regards,

Mrs. McDermon
