From the Principal

January 5th, 2012

Dear Parents,

Welcome back to an exciting second semester at Centerville Elementary.   There is a lot to learn and many brand new concepts for students in the next nine weeks of school.  Do not hesitate to contact your child’s teacher if they need extra practice on a topic.  Teachers have placed many activities, web links, etc. on their websites to help you work with your child at home.  But if you need more or would like to discuss your child’s progress before February conferences our doors are always open.

We have Science Night coming up on January 19th, 2012 beginning at 6:00pm.  This is always a fun family night.  This year we have a live animal show, a virtual field trip with NASA, and a guest scientist to help you explore “Our Shared Forest”.

The after school program begins on Monday, January 23, 2012. If your child is participating in this program, please remember to be patient the first couple of weeks as the after school buses will run later than normal. Please know we will have someone at school until we have confirmation that all students have arrived home.

I am always available to you. If you have suggestions that can make Centerville a better place to learn, I would love to hear from you!

Best Regards,

Mrs. McDermon
